Promotion of the Rule of Law and Civic Education in Malawi Project

The Industrial Relations Court (IRC) has been a beneficiary under the  European Union Rule of Law Programme (EURoL) . To mention the programme has supported  information dissemination campaigns through radio and television; training of judicial officers; and purchase of motor vehicle.

In October 2009 the IRC will be reviewing its Strategic Plan and Development Programme 2005-2009 and launching IRC users committee. These activities have been funded by  EURoL programme.

The objectives of the aforementioned activities are:

  • To promote the smooth and efficient operation of the court by consulting and involving court users.

  • To identify discuss and propose solutions to local problems arising from the general administration of the court.

  • To provide updates on labour and employment law policies o stakeholders and court users.

  • To develop a strategic pan and development programme that will guide the activities of the court in a way that guarantees efficiency and effectiveness.
